A tribute to LaVerne

A special lady passed on to glory this week. Her name was LaVerne Fields, and what a servant she was! Each week, even after her illness was advance, she sat on her walker, oxygen bottle at her side, and greeted people in the foyer at church. She was in charge of coffee and doughnuts the last couple of years. But really, she was there giving us all an example of servanthood. She even traveled to Ridgecrest, North Carolina, last summer to learn more. She was a faithful patron of the church library, and read almost every book in there. I know when she died on Tuesday, her Lord was there to greet her and say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
She will be remembered!

Baby news

Danny and Jess just emailed to say that baby Katelyn is in position and measuring on time for a mid July delivery. That's such great news! I still can't believe that we are going to be grandparents! Last Saturday's shower for Jessica was so wonderful. It was at her friend Jaime's house, and did her friends ever do a great job. I loved the baby wreath on the front door!
